University Hospital Lewisham, or UHL, has recently made the leap to be affiliated with the Guy's King's and St. Thomas' School of Medicine.
As well as being an excellent and well resourced hospital, UHL is a leading centre for paediatrics and paediatric surgery. UHL is a rising star among London hospitals. However, as a pre-clinical medic, you would never be required to go to Lewisham. In later years, your street-savviness would qualify you for a trip down Saaaf.
If you ever do feel like sampling the food, the canteen in Lewisham is quality, cheap, and does a really good range of made-to-order baguettes, sandwiches and hot food. They even prepared national meals of the teams during the FIFA World Cup!
Also, the Lewis Bar serves a more greasy and pub variety of food at lunch. So that's a plate of heart attack and a glass of stroke. There are also various 'greasy spoon' diners and an all-you-can-eat Chinese within walking distance of the hospital.
