Culture Vultures

You don't have to be an ugly necrophagic bird to enjoy the more 'refined' side of London. Museums, galleries, exhibitions and theatres fall out of London like an over flowing bath. Concessions, matinees, special offers and free entries make it affordable/cheap/free.

On a lazy day feel free to appreciate the permanent collections at the National Gallery, Tate Modern and Briton, which are all free-entry. The same goes for the Science, Natural History and V&A museums over in South Kensington.

London Eye - a bigger attraction than the one the Japanese have! Rumour is that it might be moving to Greenwich!

Imperial War Museum - experience an air raid and not a drugs raid for once. Free entry, but beware of pikeys. It closes at 6pm.

Tate Modern - Some of the world's best modern art (!) not your bedroom, fresher! Visit Tate Britain too in Pimlico. If you like that sort of thing.

Southwark Cathedral - A wonderful place to worship and make friends in the Youth groups. To volunteer in local activities, speak to the ever-lovely Odette Penwarden.

The Old Operating Theatre Museum - It's ours and we've still got to pay! Unbelievable. Nevertheless, a worthwhile experience.

Tower of London - see Her Majesty's crown jewels.

Florence Nightingale Museum - Explore the life of Florence Nightingale and her contribution to nursing. I'd prefer to explore the nurses' dormitories above!
