Clubbing in London kicks ass! From hard-core-ravers to cheese-lovers, all are catered for. Try itchylondon.com or a Time Out. To avoid West End price tags and tourist trade go east (Brick lane, Shoreditch) south (Brixton, Clapham) or north (Camden, Islington)and get clued up on student nights and free entries.
For the true student experience and to feel part of the university then it has to be Inverse at Guys, ULU (Malet Street) and all the other London Universities have loads of club nights too that are definitely worth a goosy gander. The Friday and Saturday student nights are key when it comes to partying like a student at the weekend.
As bountiful as the London rat population, there are loads of gigs and concerts. Whether its Alicia Keys, Brahms, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Eminem, Faith Hill Ginuwine, Herbie Hancock, Incubus, Jay Sean (okay, you've got the picture) they'll all be there, running just a few feet beneath the ground.
Ministry of Sound - Gaunt Street at the Elephant. Great for lovers of R'n'B, Hiphop, Dancehall, Ragga, Drum 'n' Bass, Bhangra or just plain cheese in the main room. Call Dhru on 07984 743 888.
Brixton Academy - You must have heard of it. Big names, big bouncers. Be sure to take a cab home from this place. Stockwell Road.
Gardening Club - Covent Garden. Best venue on a Monday night (if there's nothing at the student clubs)! Fantastic mix of R'n'B and nostalgic Hiphop tunes that you grew up listening to from your older siblings stereo.
Cheapskates - Unbelievably cheap ethanol (60p for a shooter and mixer on Wednesdays) at this Soho club. The walls are covered with mirrors so you can watch yourself snog some teenager. Or they may just be there to save your arse, literally! (Think about that one).
Roadhouse - A house in Covent Garden with a road running along the ceiling with cars and everything. Bizarre! A combination of live bands every night, two-for-one cocktails, and a bevy of true nymphomaniacs makes this joint a winner.
Hombres - The cheese from this place oozes out onto Oxford Street, making it hard to miss. £1 a drink, often after having been to Tommy's, has led many in the past to dancing with pillars or rubbing themselves erotically against mirrors.
